Flyers Under 15’s stay undefeated.

Bristol Academy Flyers Under 15’s remained unbeaten after another two wins at the weekend against Plymouth Raiders and Swindon Sonics. The young Flyers teams convincingly won both games on Sunday to stay top of National League South West.

Flyers first game saw them beat local rivals Swindon Sonics 61 points to 38 as the home team although starting slowly soon took control of the game and began to pull away from the Sonics. Some great pressure defence from the home team saw Flyers capitalise on easy transition baskets. Flyers had by the final buzzer had a substantial 23 point victory although this had been hard work as Swindon had valiantly fought hard throughout the game and had made it very tough for the Flyers.

Scorers: J Rogers 32, J Griffin 18, H White 8, R Ward 6, J Packwood 5, J Hensey 4, G Tovey 1.

In their second game of the day the Flyers completed a great victory over Plymouth Raiders with a dominant performance which saw Flyers win 80 points to 42.

The Second half saw Flyers again exert control as they forced numerous turnovers and converted easy lay ups. With the whole team rotating on and off all of the Flyers players contributed to a fine performance which see’s them stay undefeated in the league.

Flyers Scorers: J Rogers 38, H White 15, J Packwood 9, R Ward and G Tovey 6, L Boreham 4, J Smith 3, T Walker 2, J Hensey 1.

“Today we were able to dominate and I was really pleased at times with what we were able to do defensively. Swindon made the game very tough for us and we had to work hard for the win. The second game was much less of a battle and It’s often tough to play in games where you win so convincingly and to stay focused is really quite difficult. In spells we did everything really well but equally at other times we switched off and this let our performance down a little. This team is extremely talented and to win in such fashion shows why the team are top of the table. We will have much tougher games to come and will need to make sure we are prepared for these.” Quotes Danny James Head Coach.
